Genres
Fiction, poetry, tanka, haiku, essays, criticism, and studies of foreign literature. Film criticism, songs, paintings, sculpture (photographs are acceptable), photography, video works, and songs including lyrics, composition, and publication on YouTube are also accepted.
Eligibility to Submit and Annual Membership Fee
Professionals and amateurs alike are welcome. Applicants should be people of good judgement who will not cause difficulties for the Academia or for others.
You will be treated as a member when your submitted manuscript is accepted. Please then transfer the annual membership fee of ¥5,000 to the Academia's bank account below.

Submission Conditions
The work must not have been submitted or published elsewhere. Be sure to include the author's real name, country, affiliation, postal address and name, telephone number (mobile), and email address.
Length
Length varies by genre, but written works should preferably be no longer than twenty pages.
Conditions for Publication
- The work must be of a high literary standard.
- It must be rich in creativity and free from errors.
- It must be original. Even an original work is ineligible if its title has been changed after publication.
- It must not have a religious or political colouring.
- You must retain a copy, and agree not to hold the Academia responsible in the event of an accident or a problem with publication.
We will not publish work that offends public order or morality, copies other work, or imitates it.
Submission Screening Fees
No screening fee is charged for one submission per month of around two thousand Japanese characters. If the volume and frequency increase, however, we charge ¥2,000 per manuscript as a screening fee, to support the Academia's funds. Thank you for your understanding.
Please also note that the screening fee increases for very long manuscripts.
The annual membership fee for Japan Romanticism Academia is ¥5,000.
