Headquarters personnel and address
The members of the board are listed below, although departures, new appointments, and other changes occur as the organization operates. We may also ask outside specialists to assess submitted creative works and papers. Our criteria for acceptance or rejection follow those of universities. Most of our funding is provided by Academia International, an incorporated educational institution. As at an ordinary university, individual judges do not personally bear responsibility for assessments or financial matters. The Academia needs to increase its membership until it can operate on a self-supporting basis.

New Romanticism and Human-being
Seishu Hamano
The following three paragraphs are the English text already present in the Japanese website’s document, retained as written.
All the description in the above is a brief conception on our New Romanticism theory. Nowadays we have almost totally lost possibility of art and/or creative works to express our ideals and metaphysical sense of value. Human life is, in any country, filled with lots of complicated everydayness, and meaningless, mindless trifles might be solved with AI but its roles would never be benevolent for our humanity. AI could never make it possible to realize postmodern realism literature fulfill our lost idea because of its limited technological ability. Only the new romanticism with human passion and ideals might recover power of human intension and capabilities.
Our humane sense with passion could give us the possibilities to express our ideals, and we actually keep such a sense since beginning of our country approx.1800 years ago, when people had a custom composing Waka or 31 letter poem. Some poets and poetess are aristocrats, and others are low-ranked officers and/or peasants but Manyou-shu, a collection of such poems, has been kept without any prejudice over more than 1800 years. Even during Samurai period, whose
rank-and-file sense was so severe, this democratic humane sense was kept with no reformation.
Based on this tradition, we are now at the gate of opening our New Romanticism Academy in any art field viz. Haiku, Tanka, poems and even poems of pop-music. Some may send us original works from abroad and others may give it a tune and in this way we can compose a new original song to be sung everywhere in the world. Please try to make contact with us, and of course you can apply your original poems after you join us as a member. As is mentioned in the above, our executive staffs are mostly college professors and/or ex-college professors with lots of publication.

Biographical note on Seishu Hamano
Born in Joroku, Sakai, in 1941. After the war he learned English from the occupation forces. He entered the Faculty of Letters at Keio University and wrote his graduation thesis on a comparative literary study of the Lost Generation and the Beat Generation. He was a member of the literary circles associated with Mita Bungaku and the New Japanese Literature Association. His research concerns postmodern literary criticism and Jewish American literature.
He served as a full-time lecturer in the Faculty of Literature at Tsurumi University, an associate professor at Tohoku University, and a visiting professor in the English department of the State University of New York at Buffalo. After returning to Japan, he became a professor in the graduate school of Meisei University. He was a professor in the Department of English in the Faculty of Humanities at Japan Women’s University, also teaching in its graduate school; a lecturer at Waseda University, Aoyama Gakuin University, and Hitotsubashi University; and a researcher at the University of Tokyo.
His books include 『今日のアメリカ作家群像』 and 『ユダヤ系アメリカ文学の出発』, both published by Kenkyusha. Five works in a literary series were published: 『別れる季節』, 『若者よ明日香の国は』, 『かまぐれ』, 『父の宿』, and 『心は孤独な旅人』. Concerned about relations between Japan and North Korea, he published 『日朝、もし戦えば』 with Chuo Koronsha. The recommendation on its jacket band was written by Yozo Ishikawa, a member of the House of Representatives who had served as Director-General of the Defense Agency.
He subsequently published 『日本の、次の戦争』 with Goma Books out of concern about world affairs following constitutional revision; the novel 『愚劣少年法』 with Chuo Koron out of concern about the inadequacies of the Juvenile Act; and the novel 『ビーライフ!白亜館物語』 with Chuo Koron out of concern about the placement of retired bureaucrats in universities. He has also written or edited more than a dozen research books, including 『日米映像文学は戦争をどう見たか』, published by Kinseido. His many language textbooks and general-interest books include 『日本語朗読の楽しみ』, a work concerning poetry in Japanese literature.
Newspapers, television, and magazines have described him as a “writer who sounds the alarm,” and the business magazine Diamond has made a collection of his critical essays available online. Certificates of employment can be obtained for all the university positions listed above, so there is no cause for concern about that record.
